There are two classes offered to Upper School students: Dance Workshop and Dance Repertoire.
The Horton technique is taught in both classes. The program is a very rigorous one and intended to push students to their own personal highest level of strength and flexibility. While both classes are conducted in the same way, Dance Workshop is performance-based while Repertoire is not. Students in Repertoire can move into the performance class when the instructor feels that the student is ready. Both classes attend a workshop at The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater School, and are also introduced to the techniques of other modern choreographers. Dance Workshop performs at Wassail and at the annual Celebration of the Arts as well as additional venues in the region.
